All In My Head

Genre: Dark Comedy | 30-Minute TV Pilot

Logline

After getting laid off, a woman’s downward spiral is hijacked by her personified emotions—Anger, Anxiety, Sadness, Depression, and Grief—as she tries to rebuild her life while slowly unraveling. A dark comedy about emotional survival, sabotage, and starting over.

Series Overview

All in My Head is a half-hour dark comedy about Samantha, a Black millennial woman who loses her job, her financial security, and her father—all in one week. As her life unravels, her personified emotions—Anger, Anxiety, Sadness, Depression, and Grief—take center stage, turning every mundane task into an emotional war zone.

From screaming matches at fast-food counters to collapsing at funerals, Samantha’s inner world is constantly at odds with her public persona. This is a show about what happens when holding it together is no longer an option—and how humor might just save us when therapy can't.

With the rawness of Fleabag, the high-concept charm of Inside Out, and the mental health bite of BoJack Horseman, All in My Head explores what it means to survive when you're spiraling.

What Readers Have Said

“In Samantha, the writer has created a flawed and relatable protagonist whom audiences could find as endearing as Bridget Jones, with an adult take on the personification of emotions audiences found so enchanting in Inside Out.”
— Shore Scripts Reader

“There’s something funny on every page... The verbal comedy is backed up by character and situational humor.”
— Shore Scripts
